Plant & Costing Assistant – Full Time

We currently recruiting for a Plant & Costing Assistant

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Carry out Admin duties for the movement of Plant and Construction equipment
  • Process and input plant movements between sites and agree weekly plant usage sheets
  • Prepare and agree Invoices for external hire of equipment and fuel
  • Manage and maintain accurate record of sub-contract payment certificates
  • Understand and assist with the daily compilation of haulage and aggregate costs, National Statistics returns and the compilation of monthly contract costs

Skills Required

  • Computer literate with a higher knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • A knowledge of and willingness to develop VBA and Macro skills
  • Be organised, able to prioritise and work to clear deadlines.
  • Be flexible to meet the needs of the service.
  • Strong numerical skills, comfortable working with numbers on a daily basis
  • Confidence and ability to communicate effectively on all levels
  • Team player

Tyre Fitter & General workshop duties

Hours Monday to Friday 8:00am to 5:30pm, occasional Saturdays

  • Competitive rates of pay
  • Clean Driving Licence

Duties to include

  • Keeping the working areas clear and tidy
  • Fitting tyres
  • Greasing vehicles & plant
  • Call-outs during working hours
  • Mechanical experience is not essential

Vacancy Quantity Surveyor

We currently recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor.

The ideal candidate should have the following experience and qualifications

To hold an appropriate professional qualification in Quantity Surveying.

  • To have a minimum of, 3 to 5 years experience,  working on groundworks and civil engineering contracts.
  • To have a good working knowledge, of  JCT Contracts,  it would also  be an advantage to understand  the NEC  Form of contracts.
  • To have worked on civil engineering / groundworks construction Contracts from £50k to £5 Million
  • To understand the various methods of construction relating to civil engineering and groundworks, and be able to undertake measurement records to value works undertaken.
  • To recognise additional works / variations, undertake measures and  agree values.
  • To procure sub-contractors, check their applications, agree accounts, and certify payments
  • To prepare detailed monthly valuations and applications, including all appropriate records for submission to our clients.
  • To monitor payment of valuations and applications, resolving any differences and contractual issues promptly.
  • The ideal candidate will be based within 30 miles of LA8 0HL
  • To hold a UK driving licence

Salary and benefits will depend on the candidate’s knowledge and experience.
